Larry Kudlow's CNBC Kasich Interview REALLY Starts To Smell: Kudlow Is Considering NY Senate Race Against Dem Schumer

INCINNATI (TDB)-- Apparently, the masters at CNBC are comfortable airing business news that smells like scripted political propaganda. John Kasich, the GOP candidate for governor of Ohio, sat down with CNBC economics analyst Larry Kudlow last week for a televised interview on the business cable channel. Kudlow threw softballs and let Kasich trash Ohio, which is struggling with the Great Recession. Meanwhile, Republican operatives are pushing Kudlow to enter the GOP primary for a U.S. Senate seat in New York. A draft Kudlow committee was formed last month, and Kudlow says he won't rule out a bid to unseat Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer. About the draft Kudlow movement, The Daily Caller reports: "In its pitch for Kudlow, the group argues 'the thoughtful, well-spoken and original analyst is one of the most effective debaters on the right.' The draft movement is co-chaired by Dr. David Tukey, a former McCain-Palin Deputy Regional Campaign Manager, and Michael Caputo, a speechwriter for former Rep. Jack Kemp."

Last Friday, The Daily Bellwether reported that Kudlow's Kasich interview smacked of political theater and tracked down more than $31,000 in political contributions from Kudlow to GOP candidates. Kudlow may be "well spoken" as the the draft Kudlow comitte claims. But he also is bleeding away all no credibility as a business journalist. He's a Wall Street celebrity with a political agenda.

  1. Get over yourself. Kudlow is well-known as a Republican and supports many of the same ideas as Kasich, so he certainly would echo his sentiment. This would come as no surprise to CNBC.

And Jack Kemp is dead, moron. Cancer. Get your facts straight. You can't even transcribe someone else's writing well.

  2. Well damn. It certainly might come as a surprise to a lot of people who watch CNBC. Larry Kudlow has become a shill, a carnival huckster. On the trustworthy scale, he's just above the people who write e-mails from Nigeria. Your comment's rating: Worse than the 4th quarter 2008 U.S. growth rate under George W. Bush.
