CINCINNATI (TDB) -- The 'net is lighting up with reports out of Canton, Ohio about Scamp the Schnauzer, who is said to have predicted 40 deaths in a local nursing home. That betters Oscar the Cat from Providence, R.I. who made worldwide news last month. Hardly seems believable. Victor the Vulture may be next up.
News and video about Scamp are available here, and keep your skepticism handy. Oscar got a big write up in the New England Journal of Medicine last month. So his cred has the the medical community's Rx over Scamp's.
Victor is believed to visit Hinckley, Ohio each spring amongst a flock from the same species of bird. Victor reportedly circles overhead before living things expire, or shows up not long after they die. Indeed, there are thousands of reports of a vulture being nearby when death is imminent. Researchers are working on studies to explain why this happens.
