Echoes Of Watergate? Burglars Hit Hamilton County Democratic Headquarters

CINCINNATI (TDB) -- A computer containing campaign documents, names and plans for Cincinnati City Council candidate Brian Garry has been reported missing after the Hamilton County Democratic headquarters was broken into. Somebody slipped through a window and pulled what smells like a political dirty trick. Officials believe the computer was the only item stolen.

The Daily Bellwether is headed to Dem headquarters to learn more, and also has a call in to Garry for additional details. The Cincinnati Enquirer's print edition carried a one-paragraph news brief about the incident this morning, but there doesn't appear to be a link online yet.

Here's the complete five-sentence newspaper report:

"Cincinnati City Council candidate Brian Garry is scrambling to make up a month of work after a computer and automatic dialer were stolen from the Hamilton County Democratic Party headquarters. The equipment was stolen sometime between 11 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday. from the office on Webbland Place. An air conditioner was pushed in and the robber climbed through the window, Garry said. Only his computer was taken, although the robber had access to many others, Garry said. The computer contained campaign files and strategies."
