TIFFIN (TDB) -- There's a whole lot of interest in Seneca County about an over-the-counter brand of medication for upset tummies. Apparently, a Republican county commissioner who took office in January is a shoplifting suspect. He's pleaded not guilty.
The public official in question also has been an advocate for preserving Seneca County's 1884 courthouse, which is in danger of being razed. There is a campaign under way to save the historic building in downtown Tiffin. Preservationists are probably reaching for Tums, or Pepto Bismal, as a result of the Rolaids incident.
This comment was left on the Seneca County Blog Friday:
"Certainly bad timing for those that want to save the courthouse. Maybe now they can argue that when it is restored Bridinger's trial can be held there? If he was stealing Rolaids from Circle K one wonders what he was doing with them all. Maybe he was snorting them. Is there a Rolaid psychosis defense on the horizon?"
