CLEVELAND (TDB) -- But what does the senator call the Cleveland congresswoman? If Hillary Clinton started speaking with an urban accent, she no doubt would be hammered. Tubbs-Jones wrote on The Hill Blog today that she's known Hillary Clinton since the 1992 campaign, which means they have a friendship based on Democratic politics rather than school ties, an old neighborhood, or family connections. If Bill Clinton had not been nominated, they might never have become sistas. Tubbs-Jones said:
"I have known her since 1992, when she came to Cleveland after the Democratic Convention. Since then we have forged a strong friendship and I fondly call her my 'sista.' Additionally, we have worked together in Congress on various pieces of legislation."
OK, but don't sisters do more than work together various pieces of legislation?
