Cincinnati Black Blog: A Harsh Attack On Ohio State Rep. Tyrone Yates
CINCINNATI (TDB) -- Nate Livingston's Cincinnati Black Blog has been inactive for more than two months. Today it returned with a salacious story that involves private lives and at least one public figure -- State Rep. Tyrone Yates. The things that appear on Livingston's blog about Cincinnati's former vice mayor will not be reprinted here. But they are available by clicking the link above, and have already been spread far and wide by the technology that powers the Internet. We are now witnessing the unfettered and unchecked flow of information -- perhaps scurrilous information -- that is the downside ripple of the digital age. A portion of Livingston's post has the seamy flavor of an anonymous comment that appeared on Jeff Coryell's Ohio Daily Blog last year, a comment that outed a Republican public official in Wood County who subsequently admitted he was gay and dropped out of the OH-05 GOP congressional sweepstakes. Why would anyone other than Nate be interested in the personal lives of those people? Everyone knows that Tyrone is a strange harmless fellow who likes to quote or misquote famous dead people?

ReplyDeleteFair enough, Bill. Since you've got time to chastise Nate, when are YOU going to respond to the questions repeatedly posed to you by the Dean about your appearance on Heimlich's radio show so you can stem the flow of "scurrilous information" about you? http://tinyurl.com/3eahry
While you're at it, how about some details about your military service? Dates, where you were posted, highest rank you achieved, etc?
(Crickets.)
.
ReplyDeleteTyrone is just to sweet for people to be talking about him !
Yell, bill: When are you going to answer those questions ?
Perhaps, your good-buddy, dann basher, wRong wingnut whacko operative, miller can help you with your answers ?
Bill --
ReplyDeleteI see the nutty Heimlich stalkers are now nuttily stalking you. Congratulations on your promotion to one of the conspirators with Dr. Victoria Wulsin and others who are stalked. You are in good company, Bill, and are now welcome to become a party in the Chicago lawsuit against the loons.
Good idea. If Bill gets deposed, he'll have to answer questions.

Huh? What questions do you want him to answer? From what I've seen in Bill's blog, if you ask a reasonable and relevant question he'll try to answer it.
Bill,
For some reason you are attracting more anonymous commenters who feel the need to attack you rather than address whatever you posted. Don't let them bother ya. Years ago we had a saying about some folks "Instant a$$hole just add alcohol." Today's equivalent is " . . . . just add internet anonymity." While I occasionally disparage newspaper bias, I agree with their nearly universal ban on publishing anonymous letters to the editor.
What questions do you want (Sloat) to answer?
ReplyDeleteHe can start with the following three. According to the 5/9/08 Beacon article, "The Culture of Copulation": Did Phil 'n' Bill Share More Than Yucks? Bill Sloat is dodging them. Facts suggest that Sloat exchanged documents with Heimlich before the interview, a serious no-no for any independent journalist and that he used the Bellwether to hype Heimlich's show without disclosing he was going to be the first guest. (The latter is considerably less serious than pre-show collusion with Heimlich, but by failing to disclose, it creates the appearance he was touting for Heimlich, but didn't want Bellwether readers to know he was slated to be a guest. Why not, Bill?)
1) Do you recall what date you received the invitation to appear on the show? Who contacted you?
2) Before the interview, did you communicate with Phil? If so, please describe in detail the extent of your communications.
3) In your years as a reporter, you’ve seen plenty of scandals come and go. On a low-high scale of 1-10, with 10 being Tom Noe/"Coingate," what ranking would you attach to the current situation in the Attorney General’s office?

ReplyDeleteI have turned on comment moderatio and deleted a comment about the proprietor of the Cincinnati Beacon that I did not feel was appropriate. The personal attacks have gotten a little out of hand.
ReplyDeleteLet me see if I've got this straight, Bill. It's no problem when you and Phil Heimlich make untempered personal attacks on Marc Dann, apparently synching your talking points before the show by exchanging documents.
ReplyDeleteBut when you're asked to answer some reasonable who/what/where/when questions by the Dean, questions which go straight to your professional ethics, you ignore them.
You do, however, step in because a commenter posted something personal about the Dean.
Bill, at least have the courage to come out and say you refuse to answer the questions instead of playing hide and seek. It's demeaning to watch you act like this.
While a portion of the post may have "the seamy flavor of an anonymous comment that appeared on Jeff Coryell's Ohio Daily Blog last year, a comment that outed a Republican public official in Wood County who subsequently admitted he was gay and dropped out of the OH-05 GOP congressional sweepstakes," another portion deals with public corruption.
ReplyDeleteAn elected official can't vote to give Legal Aid money, then call on them to spend any portion of that money representing his lover, or former lover. Where is Gov. Strickland?
